Sulfamate Nickel Plating
Sulfamate nickel plating is a 99.99% pure and electrolytically deposited for many engineering applications, and is often used for complex dimensional corrections. The process also provides abrasion and wear resistance and incidental corrosion protection of components depending upon the thickness of the nickel plating. It can also be used as an undercoat for chromium.
Selective plating for dimensional correction is a typical application for sulfamate nickel because of its ability to deposit up to .250 with fewer inclusions and less porosity than most electrolytic deposits. This is an excellent choice for heavy deposits in excess of .015-.020 thick. This process can be used to salvage worn and undersized parts.
Sulfamate Nickel Plating Benefits:
- High temperature resistance
- High tensile strength and high ductility
- Corrosion and oxidation resistance
- Galling and fretting prevention
